I have tried all the curry houses in the s6 area and can finally say I have found the best. Taj has taken the lead by far. The quality of the food and the flavour is one which is unique as is there cooking style and they have an open kitchen too so you can watch the chefs cook your meal while you wait! Unlike many Indian takeaways where everything is behind closed doors which makes me feel a bit worried about the food. I rang the takeaway for a collection order where I was greeted in a very friendly and welcoming manner, I then placed my order and was told by the chap that we are extremely busy tonight and therefore we will have your meal ready to collect in half an hour and asked if that was okay? Which I thought was very quick considering the order. I then went to collect the meal where I was amazed to see the place was packed with people so many so that there was barely any room to stand in the shop never mind sit down on the very comfy looking sofas! I then went over to the counter and asked the chap if my meal was ready and paid, within around a minute the chap had packed up the meal and then presented it to me very politely thanked me and wished me a pleasant evening which I thought was very friendly. I was very impressed by the way everything was going so far and I must say that the takeaway is very classy indeed and had a great atmosphere. I couldn't wait to get home and tuck in to the food after seeing so many people there I knew this place must be good. I wasn't disappointed either! Full of flavour, generous portions, excellent value for money and service with a smile. This place is most definitely the best Indian I have had and am now hooked by the quality food and friendly service. Keep up the amazing work Taj you've got my support and I am looking forward to my next curry!

The wife and I just had our first ever curry from Taj and it was spot on to say the least. After a disappointing last Take away from our long term Indian based in S6 we decided to give this one a shout after the wife heard about it and I can honestly say we won't be looking back as this one blows our former curry house out of the water on every front. We placed an order for collection via telephone and upon asking how long it would be we were told it could be ready in 15 minutes for us if that was ok of which being starving we eagerly agreed we would be there. First impressions are that the portions are more than generous but despite being takeaway still had a really good restaurant look with fresh herbs etc on top. The curry itself was really tasty and was packed full of flavour which is ideal for us smokers who no longer have taste buds. Really tasty sauce, The Tikka chicken in the curry was big meaty chunks and plenty of it (in fact double of what we used to get at our previous curry house which shocked me). Everything else in the curry as the poster above me states were big chunk portions eg onion, peppers, tomato, however I really enjoyed this, when I have a curry I want to be able to taste the ingredients and it gave a bit of crunchy texture to the curry as opposed to slosh. We had Special Pilau rice which the wife has now fallen in love with, has almonds among other things in it and is a nice change to standard pilau. I don't know about everyone else but i'm a lover of the good old Onion Bhaji?. At our old curry house for about 20p which isn't a lot I know but a Bhaji starter only had one medium bhaji with a bit of side salad. Taj do 2 large ones for £1.70 and they didn't disappoint, really juicy and tasty whilst crispy on the outside, yum!. Things that come as standard are the usual Onion salad as well as a couple of bags of side salad, a couple of pots of Raita / mint yoghurt and a couple of free poppudums thrown in for good measure which I didn't get a look in at but oh well :-) To sum up, found ourselves a new curry house. Had to come on here to spread the news for those who are umming and ahhing or might be looking for a decent curry in the S6 area as we were that impressed. 5 Stars Decent priced, Generous portions, Very tasty, Very quick and overall spot on!
